Hello Bayfield County neighbors,
When it comes to completing the 2020 Census, to account for everyone residing in your home, I want you to know it’s not too late to self-respond. Census takers begin knocking on doors in your community this week!
This is a normal part of conducting the census. Your information is such an important part of the 2020 Census, that if you have not responded on your own, we send census takers to help make sure you are counted.
Please answer their questions. It is easy and important. To avoid a visit, respond online today at 2020census.gov.
Your safety is important! All staff will receive safety training and will be issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and will follow social distancing protocols throughout this operation.
If someone visits your home to collect information for the 2020 Census, you can check to make sure they have a valid ID badge with their photograph, a U.S. Department of Commerce watermark, and an expiration date. Census workers may also carry Census Bureau bags and other equipment with the Census Bureau logo.
If you still have questions about the legitimacy of a Census Taker’s identity, you can call your Regional Census Center to speak with a Census Bureau representative at (312) 579-1500.
Information for the 2020 Census can be found here.
